Happy Birthday Thanks

Hi everyone! I wanted to post a thank you for all the wonderful and sweet birthday wishes so many of you sent my way!!! It was a ton of fun and I got a kick out of so many sweet and happy thoughts. :)

On top of all those lovely wishes, I had a wonderful 40th birthday party at home. My sister came up to visit and we had yummy stuff 3 days in a row.

I thought I should record myself on my 40th year of life (despite how much I detest having my picture taken) so I had my sister take some casual shots. Never a good idea....LOL I just hate that I don't look like I do in my head...LOL I have a totally different picture of myself in my head, but I had to share...this is truly me. LOL

My sister was trying to give me directions...look this way, open your eyes, don't put your chin down.... hmmmm, not sure it worked. LOL My hair is normally curly too, so you get me with almost-straight-and-way-too-big hair, trying to keep my eyes open in the sun with make-up dripping in them...still, we had fun! :)

And I am trying to be grateful for the pictures that reminds me how old I have become and how much I need to quit eating chocolate cake----see, the years are getting to me already...one should always eat chocolate cake. LOL

The other little sister came the next day and brought me a shirt as a present....but it ended up being a funny story. Remember I am a very curvy and plus-size woman and my nephews designed a shirt for my birthday that says "Reading Rocks" (strategically placed right across the front)....well, my sweet mother thought it said, "Reading RAcks"!!! hehe This little humorous comment spawned a whole series of librarian jokes: "Librarians have the best racks" and "Wanna play with my stacks..." It only went downhill from there, but it was hilarious...well, maybe, you had to be there...bwwaaahhhaaaa

All and all, I had a great time with my family and was blessed by a delightful, love-filled time from my online friends and family....and chocolate cake of course. :)

PS: This is my sweet mom....I wonder where I get my laugh from. LOL

Tiddly Tuesday -

Sooooo, where is time going, right? It is flying away around here, so I find myself on a Tuesday without a new image for release, not because I don't have a ton of images, but because I am saving them for next week's big release......ooops; not good planning on my part, but it is also my birthday this week, so I gave myself the week off without the guilt trip.... LOL

But since you are here, you really MUST and I mean MUST check out the amazingly drop-dead-gorgeous samples by the DT this week on the challenge blog...they just get better and better! :)

In line with that thought, there are going to be some really adorable things to show you in a week, so I hope you come back then and see. :) I am posting some sneak peeks below----just to tease you...bbbbwwhhaaa!!!

These are totally adorable in person.  Can't wait to show them off, starting April 3.

If you haven't grabbed the badge to advertise the release for April, then you might want to do so, or even better how about an incentive to do so...

We won't make it fancy with a link list or anything, but if you plan to or did already post the badge, then leave a comment below. Next Sunday or Monday, I will pick one comment to win 2 of the images released next week...how's that??? :)

Super Spy and Super Fly Tiddly Tuesday!

Oh, yeah....we got some suppppperrrrr fly (yup, I know....cheesy! LOL) adventures coming up for Tiddly Inks in the next month or so, and I am sooo excited. :) The end of April/beginning of May marks the 2-year anniversary of Tiddly Inks digital stamps and that  kind of totally blows my mind. :) We are going to be revealing more information as we go, but for now, I created a little badge (using delightful coloring on Wryn by MelissaMade) to get us thinking about said celebration. :) If you want to share it, then just grab the code and post it...if not, just come on back and play with us when it is time. :) Our celebration will begin on Tuesday, April 3.

And before you go, let's meet a Wryn....did you know Wryn is getting a little rubber sister? Well, you can meet her at Stamping Bella's blog until she is born. LOL

Ahhhemm, back to Wryn.... hehe This image was a special request for a birthday, but I love how it turned out and I can see using it for lots of occasions. :) I also foresee that Wryn will be wearing a floppy hat and those glasses for summer soon too. LOL

Terms of Use Friendly Reminder - Please read

[this is an international message, so please click the flags in the sidebar to translate]
Hi Everyone,
I want to thank everyone for a wonderful response to Wryn and the recent new images....it makes me happy to connect with so many of you and your lovely creations. :)

While I love seeing all the happy creating and sharing on the blogs, there is one kind of sharing that makes me a little less happy.

I have had a lot of requests lately for using and sharing images (mostly in classes), which makes me wonder how many lovely artists are not asking. Let me just remind you (in the most friendly way) that when you buy a digital stamp or image you are only paying for THE RIGHT to use that image yourself. You are not buying the image, just paying for permission to use it on a personal basis.

Now specifically to address instructors of classes. I understand that many want to use images to teach a coloring class and so might print out one or two images per person in their class for everyone to color. This is not allowed or permissible under my Terms of Use.

The low $3 price does not include a license to use it in classes or as giveaways or any other ways that involve free use.

Let me see if I can explain why without making anyone mad. This is sensitive subject as people jump to the conclusion that I am labeling this as intentional theft. However, for 99% of the classes or ways in which images are shared, the sharing is done with excitement and joy because you love the image and you want everyone else to know that (not to steal or intentionally break TOUs). For that, I do thank you, but let's try to reframe this gentle correction in a new way.

Scenario: You just found Wryn and you teach 15 people how to use Copics at the local scrapbooking center and you want each of them to love Wryn and have fun coloring. So you print out 3 different images for all 15 people in your class to color and practice on. That is 45 images ($3 each) for a total of $135 free products you just gave away. Now you say, but I am advertising for you, what is the big deal?? While I do appreciate the advertising, it isn't actually free.

What is the percentage of those 15 people who will come to my shop and purchase something from me? Or pass along the link to the shop? Truly, it will not be high. As I would in their place, most will simply enjoy their free products and some may come shopping, but it is doubtful that their purchases will add up to $135 in the near future. So while you did show 15 new people 3 new images, there is a better way to do that.
Instead of printing or forwarding the file to 15 people, please take a copy and the link so that you can show instead of share.
Now take it one step further, if your small class is sharing images, imagine the global impact...if there are 20 classes in the United States, 10 in Holland, and 15 in Australia (except those numbers are probably very low) doing the same thing, then my actual "advertising" cost is closer to $4,500 [45 classes at $100 free product per class)
If you want to share Wryn with your class, please email me and I will set up a discount coupon for people in the class so that they really will come and share the Tiddly Inks love.

Now the other side is the argument that if they didn't see it, they wouldn't purchase it anyway, so I get that side of it, but I am asking you to honor the terms of use anyway. There are many ways to appropriately share your love of the images without giving away the images. Show, but don't share....create and blog, but don't give away....pretty, pretty please.

So if you truly want to support an artist making her way through the new world of digital images and figuring how to work with people in the new world of digital art, then please follow the TOUs and allow me to draw and not police infractions. I hate doing it and I hate that I even have to bring it up...the terms are stated very clearly in advance.

I want to support you and your crafting and I ask the same in return. I am not a large company. I handle all my own emails and issues, so each time I have to spend 15 minutes tracking down a problem, it is 15 minutes that destroys creativity and detracts from more Wryns and images.

Thank you for your amazing support and understanding...I hope this clears it up and helps you see what I mean...if you are still unsure what is allowed, here is the long version:

The following is intended as a firm reminder...When you buy a digital stamp or image you are not buying a physical product, but rather THE RIGHT to use that image---just you though, not your family and friends (this does not include younger children who live with you :D). You are not buying the image, just paying for permission to use it on a personal basis. This is how many artists make their money, through royalties and rights.

Happy Friday Thoughts!! :)

Howdy ya'll! :) Yup, it is a good-ol country greeting. LOL I am in a great mood as I have had a relaxing and family-oriented week. I got a lot of doodling done, my house is clean (well, cleaner than it was this morning LOL), and I finished up a project for my daughter's school that I have been trying to finish for 9 months. Life is good!

Now, onto the taxes and other types of delightful paperwork!

I also wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who chimed in on the survey I posted on Facebook. I got some very interesting results. The majority of people suggested clear stamps or that they would be sticking with digital stamps and that really surprised me. I totally expected you to tell me cling-mounted rubber stamps...what a surprise. :)

As a result I will be looking into clear/photopolymer stamps in the near future. It takes a while to get that all sorted out, but I can't thank you enough for your thoughts. :) Anyone want to help me sort out shipping on my site?? LOL No, me either....:)

If you missed the survey, you can click the link and it will take you to 2 very short questions:
https://app.icontact.com/icp/sub/survey/start?sid=2116&cid=929335

And did you take a look at Stamping Bella's website/blog lately....she has her own little surprise coming soon....:)

Now I am off to have a cook-out with the family and relax for a Friday night! I would say we would watch a movie, but our DVD player went kaput, so it is shipped off to Sony to get fixed. :( I guess we could stare at the wall...or maybe even TALK!!! LOL

I hope you have a great night staring at the wall  (NOT) or eating a grilled hamburger (or veggie burger) and being with people who love you....:) That makes everything better...even the wall! LOL
XOXO

Tiddly Tuesday - Wryn and Emmy BFF AND a Question for You

Hello all my lovely Inkers! :) It is all about best friends today. :0 Wryn definitely needed a best friend, so I would like to introduce you to Emmy. :) It was suggested that they are alike enough to be sisters, and I would agree that many sisters are best friends, so either way it works. :)

And the DT (as always my rocks and inspiration) shared some lovely samples with us today. :)

And now a question for you. :)
How many of you would like to be able to use Wryns as rubber stamps or clear stamps?
I am considering making some Wryns either as rubber or clear stamps, but I don't know which one people would prefer, or even if they would prefer to have a physical product. So I thought I would ask.  :) I don't do much rubber stamping myself (I like to print and color big digi images...hehe), so what type of options do you like best? Cling mounting? Clear stamps? Which type would you rather work with? Rubber stamps? Clear photo-polymer stamps? Or do you prefer digital and wouldn't invest in either rubber or clear?

If you would be so kind as to leave a comment or vote in this quick (literally 2-second) survey, then I would have a better idea of what people would like. :)

Just click the link and it will take you to 2 questions to answer...
https://app.icontact.com/icp/sub/survey/start?sid=2116&cid=929335

Or feel free to comment away.....tell me what you like, what you think....inquiring minds NEEEEED to know. hehe
